BIKE BAN

Here is the Arete No 010605/20 “seasonal bike ban”

Dont worry this is not a bad thing! ill explain why, first here are te facts:

– This bike ban is for the Chamonix commune only so Les Bossons to Le Tour

– It is from the 1st July -31st August.

– This includes all bikes of any discipline.

– There is a list of what you are allowed to ride on, anything not on the list is not allowed.

– This list does not include the official pistes of the bike parks le Tour and Grand Montets.

Why is it not a bad thing?

In high summer season there are large numbers of walkers and runners, even if you did want to ride these trails you would be stopping every 20m to pass people causing frustration amongst the riders and the other trail users, we can probably all agree this is not the idea of good riding!
